Who owns the truth?

Computers have taken over every aspect of human lives: jobs, bank transfers, dates, memories and revolutions; all that we do, who we meet, what we like, where we go and what we love can be stored in a computer file to be analized, recreated, altered and corrupted. The legal system uses these records looking for justice. But are they "the truth"? Does any part of it still belong to us? Can we be defined by it?

We used to keep it within us. We used to swear by God that it was all that we were.

But if truth is stored in computers, then lying is the last thing that makes us human.
